Windows 8.1 / 10 64bit repair without reinstall? Try this!

Update 16.10.2019:

Since the cloning from a Sata M.2 128 GB to a 480 GB SSD, some bluescreen returns, mostly with the win32kfull.sys . Maybe the main problem was, some files are getting a second identical ownership. CBS Log informations tells it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Update 22.05.2017:

Don`t waste your time on Win 8, switch to Win 10. Since I was, I`m happy again (with the same laptop)! Good Luck!

----------------------------------------------------------

Windowsbutton+X -> choose Prompt (Administrator)
After that, the console should have opened in Administrator mode with the following content:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Individually paste the following commands and confirm it with Enter:

  1. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  2. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  3. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
  4. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  5. "now restart"
  6. sfc /scannow

Most importantly, the PC / laptop must have a stable Internet connection. These commands repair the registry, the data integrity of the hard disk and the file system as well as important Windows DLLs (if necessary through Windows Update, which is why you need the internet connection).

You can find out exactly what the individual repairs resulted from under C:\Windows\Logs\CBS in the log. At the bottom is always the latest entry. Wait until the repair is finished so that you can read the complete log. Open in between and read along (without saving) works too.

The sfc / scannow command does sometimes (due to responses from Microsoft employees) up to three attempts to correct any errors.

Result: After I had corrupt DLLs in my Windows 8.1, most likely caused by an update, I had to read through many postings. Often I read this as a problem-solving: "New Installation".

Anyone can logically and clearly recognize that a clean installation on a undeserved "Update - phenomenon" can not be "the solution". For this we need then reinstall the OS every 14 days, due to the repeated failures of Windows Update? Just stupid. Mainly for these honest people seeking help I wrote this post. I hope he is written easy to understand. If you like it, share it!

Greetings, Frank

Last I made an Android Firmware Update with a Samsung GT-P7511. While the browser is connected to the Internet, but every page connects only with certificate errors and as a highlight the message when trying to connect to Playstore:

"can't establish a reliable data connection to server." This appears, and warnings, that the packet data option is not enabled, although you find yourself within a Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G or LTE network! Then simply check your date settings.

Often after a firmware update, the original manufacturing date is set again. If the correct date is set, then everything should work properly again. It worked perfectly for me.

Windows 10 update really for free?

Yes! The upgrade to Windows 10 offered a year for free for the following OS versions:

  • Windows 7 SP1
  • Windows 8.1 Update
  • Windows Phone 8.1 mobile devices

After the year the upgrade is expected to be charged.

Who can get this update?

First: This upgrade is device-specific, this means it is not assigned to any Microsoft user account or something like this. Every "device", that passed the performance requirements, with "Windows Update" activated and not included in the following listed operating systems(OS):

  • Windows 7 Enterprise
  • Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise
  • Windows RT
  • Windows RT 8.1

Additional info from Microsoft: "Enterprise customers with active Software Assurance subscription in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer."

What are the basic technical requirements of this?

According to Microsoft, the minimum system requirements are:

  • 1 GHz processor or SoC (System-on-a-Chip)
  • 1GB ram for 32-Bit OS and 2GB ram for 64-Bit OS
  • 16GB hard drive storage for 32-Bit OS and 20GB hard drive storge for 64-Bit OS
  • The graphiccard must at minimum work with DirectX 9 and use the WDDM 1.0 driver
  • The minimum screenresolution is 1024x600 px

What does the reservation of Windows 10 update?

This will show that you are interested for your device on an update to Windows 10. If the update is available and can be downloaded, you can cancel the operation still, if you've the meantime decided against it.

Is notification for Windows 10 now always in my taskbar?

That seems to be the case, at least until the update is done. Definitely a marketing effective method to keep the update in memory.

Can I cancel the reservation?

Yes you can. Rightklick on the taskbar->on the Windows 10 symbol "Check upgrade status" and select "cancel reservation".

Windows 10 Upgrade - Your processor is not supported

This is due to the old hardware that does not support certain processor functions, but are required for Windows 10 (according to MS). Two possibilities; either wait for the possible update, or uninstall the annoying Windows 10 taskbar Reminder.

How to uninstall the Windows 10 Reminder?

  • control Panel
  • Software and Features
  • show installed Updates
  • search about "KB3035583"
  • uninstall ->done

Summary:

Because the update is really free, everyone should reserve it. For Microsoft this is a beautiful thing, because the whole update of XP, Vista, 7, 8 will cost Microsoft a lot of money. Lift all operating systems on a stand can be a cost-saving method. If the official version released, just wait after the first series of updates to fix the expected bugs. :-D If everything works perfect, make the Windows 10 update!

Since the new Android Wear you ask yourself the question, how many bluetooth connections can a mobile use at the same time?

Is less more again?

The scenario is: Bluetooth speaker - headphones, a fitness wearable, plus perhaps a GPS sensor ala Adidas Speed_Cell and a heart rate monitor with Adidas X_Cell easily placed (just for the Runner). Since the prices are affordable and the boom of statistics and Fitness gadgets do not end, you can choose from a wide range accessories for your smartphone.

The answer is enthusiastically - for the future, too.

The Bluetooth standard is as designed for small groups of a "main device / master device " and seven (belonging to this group) "slave devices". The "main device / master device" is assumed to reflect the timing of the "frequency hopping" from this group. There are also more complex networks possible, but only as an additional information for you. The above-mentioned Bluetooth scenario with the mentioned devices should therefore connect to all without problems.

Why not connect all devices via Wi-Fi, as with Apple via Airplay between his Mac`s?

Wi-Fi consumes much more energy than Bluetooth. Although the connection via Wi-Fi is faster, but incurred in the tiny amounts of data even in music transfer is not such a big disadvantage as a battery too quickly emptied.

With this in mind,
keep on running!

Is your Android App installation or update failed?

Then you know this Android message: App Installation failed

Reason (in my opinion) probably a bad installation routine when updating some apps.

Here is what helped me:

  • change the installation location of the app from the SD memory card to the internal memory
  • reboot the device
  • update the app
  • change the installation location of the app back to the SD memory card (if you want)
  • done

Questions and Answers:

Q: Do I have to do this now every time?

A: I think not, because the problem is not an isolated case, soon a new update will solve the problem.

Q: Are all android apps affected?

A: So far, according to my experience affected only "Inbox" ® and "MX Player Pro" ®, so I do not think so.

Greetings Frank
